About Arborwood Press

gaijin coverIn 1985-1995 Kenneth Fenter authored and published three non-fiction books in a series: An American Family in Japan.
These books were under the imprint Cross Cultural Press. With the creation of Arborwood Press, the books, Gaijin! Gaijin!; MoIchido, Once More; and Suteindo Gurasu, Stained Glass; will be re-issued with new ISBN numbers and in re-Stained glassedited form in the future. At this time, Gaijin! Third Edition is in print.

A few copies of the original Cross Cultural Press edition is available of Stained Glass autographed by the author while it lasts.

MoIchido is currently being revised for re-issue. Al re-releases will include e-book versions as well as trade paper versions.

Although Japan has surely changed since 1980, the Cross Cultural experience surely has not. Now more than ever people are participating in the "cross cultural" experience and go through the same steps that the Fenter family went through: Honeymoon period, bitter dissapointment, acceptance and then the readjustment once arriving back into once's own society. It seems to happen whether the experience occurs over a few days or over several years.

There are several online reviews of the books if you type in the names of either the books or author. After all these years, all three are available used. These two remaining titles are offered here new.

Gaijin! Gaijin! ISBN: 978-1456531195 $19.95
Stained Glass ISBN: 0-930693-08-6 $19.95

Was This the Way it HappenedIn 2003-2004 Kenneth Fenter participated in the production of a book titled: Was This the Way it Happened? I Think So.
And 62 More Short Stores by writers of Silver Lakes

This was the result of a group of talented retired individuals from all over the Northeastern and Midwestern United States and one Northwesterner who met every Monday afternoon in sunny Naples Florida in an informal writing seminar sharing short stories. We had so much fun that spring of 1994 that we chose the best 62 of them from among the output of 12 of us and published them. The project was underwritten by the Activities committee of our Resort as a fund raiser. The event was a smashing success and launched several into ongoing projects of their own. The authors were retired businessmen, educators, doctors, farmers, housewives. It is a wonderful anthology. Each author checked out a few of the remaining copies to sell. All proceeds went back to the Silver Lakes RV Resort and Golf Activities fund. 176 page Trade PB. $12.50
